A review of the work and the scientific thought of Faustino Cordón could be carried out using a systematic, thematic approach, a biographical (and even bibliographic) approach or a combination of the two. This article basically follows the second approach, trying to identify the main turning points in Cordón’s development as a scientist (formation, maturity and plenitude). It opens with a brief general introduction that aims to place Cordón and his work within the panorama of contemporary thought.
